A headshot that sells: remaking the image of Halstead’s real estate agents

Real estate giant Halstead engaged our studio to produce a series of lifestyle photo sessions for their top agents.

These “day in the life” photo shoots were focused on creating a set of images that the agents can feature in their media kits, social channels, and client outreach. Rather than just a traditional bland headshot, these shoots provided the agents with unique sales-driving imagery that can be used across many channels.

Our goal was to make every photo personal. Nice light and a pleasing background is just the starting point — the larger goal is to form a connection between the viewer and the subject. We asked the agents to choose locations that had personal significance, and the results made for more of an authentic portrait than a stiff headshot.

Agent Jeffrey Green

Serving NYC’s Harlem area, we used the neighborhood’s quiet sidestreets as the backdrop for his session. Jeffrey often travels to listings via his bike, so we incorporated that into the shoot. To round things out, we included some shots of him on site at one of his listings.

Agent Brenda Di Bari

Brenda Di Bari opted for a session in her favorite NYC neighborhood, Soho. We captured a variety of scenes showcasing her life in one of NYC’s most vibrant and bustling areas.

Agent George DeMarco

George DeMarco’s heart is in theater. We began his shoot near NYC’s Lincoln Center, showcasing the famed theater facade and fountain as the backdrop for his photos. Some photos were posed portraits, and others had a more lifestyle approach, featuring George walking through his favorite part of the city and stopping by the fountain to answer a client email on his laptop.

Agent Lisa Lippman

Lisa’s shoot featured a combination of portraits and lifestyle shots of her in an upper east side listing. The warm, inviting tones of the property made for an excellent backdrop to create some natural portraits.

When paired with the right copy, these photos serve as a fantastic introduction into the experience of working with these agents. It provides subtext for a transactional relationship to not feel so transactional. It creates space for real, authentic human connections.
